El Guapo

Well, I was going to post my animation, but Blogger is hiding the 'add video' filmstrip icon. Go figure. So here is a rendered frame. I know, not nearly as fun :(

Animation Mentor Graduation

Well, it's finally official. Graduated in San Francisco on Saturday. Very happy about it. Now if I can get my demo reel done I may be able to get a job. It was very weird, and exciting, meeting my fellow students for the first time in person (Online school). I'm apparently one of the shortest students (at least compared to who Kristin and I hung out with that day). Thank God for Jerry! This is one diploma that I'll actually proudly display on my wall. My other two are collecting dust in a stack of random junk. The speaker for graduation was Pete Docter. I think only the animator's knew who he was, and we were VERY excited. Among many other things, he directed Monster's Inc. He too was very tall. I guess I need a new pair of Doc Marten's. That odd character between Kristin and I is the school mascot. Glad he was short.

Channel 34

Since I'm not busy (lol), I am working on some quick logo animations for my church, Crossroads. They are working on a new concept for 'Kids Club' called Channel 34 (I'm assuming for 3rd and 4th graders). I believe it's like a news station, which they are going to film at a local tv station. Still a WIP but getting there.

Moving On

I've finally come to grips with throwing away 800 hours of animation work. Started today on a 300 frame animation that should be done by the end of December. Bummed the audio off a movie and , of course, the girl has the gun. I was thinking maybe an Office Supply vault. Not sure yet.

Many thanks

Made this poster (6ft tall) for my RF manager at AT&T. I owe him everything for getting me a position in RF Performance, and out of the front desk. He was always joking about how every company he works for goes bankrupt or is sold. On Sept. 26th AT&T left the Cincinnati Market. Had I known he was going to take his life shortly after I would have done something totally different.

Venting

I'm sure you can replace 'at&t' with most any corporate empire, but this is how it has felt the last couple years.

Poses

One of the many things I like about the 3D world is that you can show everyone how you feel on a particular day.
